Josh Roy- 'Break My Own Heart'

Josh Roy- 'Break My Own Heart'

There’s a sunny, easygoing charm to Josh Roy’s “Break My Own Heart”… and that caught me off guard. When you see a title like that on a page, you expect a torch song of sorts. But “Break My Own Heart” throws a curveball and keeps things light and friendly. You can almost hear the smile on Josh’s face when he sings “you were drop dead prettier than any other girl I’d ever seen”. It’s like he’s having the time of his life, and it’s infectious. This song is a summer jam that’s staking it’s claim nice and early- the kind of song that’s equally at home at a tailgate barbecue or inside the amphitheater with a few thousand souls singing along. If you want a song that feels like Old Dominion with a strong shot of southwestern charisma? You won’t have to “Break Your Own Heart” to get it.
