Not enough songs have a sensual smolder these days... fortunately we have artists like Audra McLaughlin working hard to fill that void. "Wake Me Up" is about a longing so intense that you dream of it in the moments right after you pass out after a steamy tryst. There's a hunger in the lyrics akin to Thomas Rhett's "Craving You", but musically there's a deeper, smoky quality to it. And then there's Audra's delivery... anyone familiar with her career will know this gal can SING, and she's still at the top of her game here. She's got the vocal acrobatics of fellow Pennsylvania expat Christina Aguilera, but with more soul. It all comes together for a seductive sonic escape that's sure to make you want to dim the lights, light some candles, and engage in some adults-only cardio.
