Alex Allegra - "Color (Bloom)"

Alex Allegra - "Color (Bloom)"

From the moment "Color (Bloom)" drifts into your speakers, you can immediately tell you're in for something different. With chord changes reminiscent of Our Lady Peace's finest works ("Clumsy" comes to mind"), you're offered a glimpse into something a little unsteady, but welcoming and familiar. The verses are stark; full of reflection and self-doubt, but then the chorus bursts like a field of wildflowers in all of their technicolor glory. It's a wonderful juxtaposition that's artfully tied together with Alex's quick, nimble melodies. This is one for fans of Lights or XYLØ or really any moody indie pop.
